Everything's fast about it - I'm hooked. I also love the way it remembers where you've been, page view by page view, and how you can just click the star to make a site a favorite.

For me on a dual 2.7 GHz PowerMac G5 with 8GB RAM...
(with a few browser windows open, with several tabs active in each)

Release Candidate 1: Choked on Flash ads. Memory leaks degrade and persist. Drats.

Release Candidate 2: they fixed it! No more memory glut and crashes! Garbage collection finally fixed?!?

Release Candidate 3 and final release today: F$%k. They broke it again. Dammit.

Sucks. They finally had it fixed for my particular platform config with RC2, then broke it again.

Does have some other nice new features though, which I am able to enjoy between occasional manual process kills.

Haven't check on either of my PCs (which I use for email) or other boxen, the above is just for the main Mac that gets the most of my browser activity.

But I am fairly certain that it will zip along quite well on the PCs, as usual.

are we feeling that v3 is better or worse on memory? I'm running vista but firefox eats the shit out of my memory (better than IE, but still) I have to run it all day for VPN related work stuff..

Just noticed that my Firebug (web dev tools) add-on was not up-to-date and not auto-updating as it should, so perhaps that caused internal problems for me with the previous RC3 version and today's final release version.

Just deleted the outdated version of Firebug and manually installed the latest June 13 version that is supposedly compatible with 3.0, so I guess I will reserve judgments about final release version here until I see how this goes.

So maybe RC3 and final aren't b0rked again. Heh, ever a problem, usually an add-on. :)

I think if you were having memory leaks when using flash, you'd find out about it fairly soon. e.g. if your machine gets slower and slower the longer you use firefox on pages with animation, until it almost freezes, cured by quitting the app and starting again.

I'm going to have to try it out on my opteron -- flash is still a problem on x86-64 under linux.

anybody else using FF3 finding facebook suddenly buggy? internal links (like next page of friends -- simple stuff) working only intermittently, etc.?

i've been having lots of niggling little issues at FB since installing FF3, but perhaps it's coincidence. backing out of FB and coming back works temporarily.
