scam alert (?)

A guy I've never seen before just knocked on our door (yes, at 11:15pm) claiming to live up the block (for 32 years), and said his 6 year old daughter had an asthma attack, he needs cash to pay for the $168 prescription, has $150, needs $18 in cash, b/c Neergard's card machine isn't working,

Way fishy. If I'd seen him before it would be one thing, but we've been here 3 1/2 years and while we don't know everyone, well, the whole thing smelled darn bad.

Anyone else gotten this one?

Yeah, do a search on the boards. This guy was working PS a couple of years ago I believe.

    Yep.
This guy was in a panic - he said his kid had asthma and needed medicine, and Neergaard didn't have him on file yet, and could I help him out, and he'd return the money in a few hours when his wife got home...Needless to say, I "lent" him $100.

I'm just impressed that he has the gall to be knocking on doors in sunset park at 11:15pm. I mean, I guess that's the right time to really get people, but still.

Huh. Glad we didn't give him any money.

I wonder if "Felix" is the same guy as "Dan the attorney".
