Canadian Expatriates?

My wife came here from Canada 5 years ago and is a bit homesick for people and products from Canada. Are there any Canadian expatriates on this board we could get together with?

Oh shoot I wish I had seen this before this morning. I taught a special "Canada Day" ride in my spin class and I would have invited her as my guest. Next time for sure!

Steve, the bartender who works on Thursdays at Buttermilk and Saturday at The Boat, is Canadian. He always plays a good selection of Canadian rock from his ipod.

Sounds like those places would be worth a visit. It's always good to hear some Hip on a bar's sound system. Probably no luck in hearing some Nomeansno, D.O.A., SNFU or 54-40 but I can always hope.

That documentary sounds interesting. I'll have to figure out how to use the PM.

I am not Canadian but there are a few Canadian things I would love to get my hands on like that St Hubert BBQ sauce and those vegetarian tortiere pies.

I miss all of Nova Scotia and the street cart hot dogs in Toronto. Most of all I miss Bob and Doug McKenzie.

I am Canadian, and the above mentioned bands are definitely my era. Saw them many many times live, in their hey days!

I know some folks going to Montreal at the end of the month (I think they're leaving on July 25th).
But one of them says that the French-Canadian areas that they'll be in have different products from other provinces.
If you are looking for some French-Canadian products (or products that you know can be found all over), let me know.
My friends said that they'd be happy to help.
(You'd have to come to north Crown Heights / Bed Stuy or lower Manhattan to pick up the loot.)

If your friend is willing, my wife has a standing order for Honeycomb Cereal (they make it different up there), O Henry Bars (ditto) and cans of Tim Horton's French Vanilla Cappuccino. If she needs money up front, please let me know.

bogframe - they've made a list and will go shopping for the Honeycomb, O Henry bars, and Tim Horton's French Vanilla. They return to NYC the evening of Sunday July 27th. I will post or send you an PM when they're back.
