Film crew/new restaurant on PPW at 16th

I saw a biggish film crew on PPW at 16th st (across from Farrell's) at like 7:30 tonight. They seemed to be filming a ♦shot that involved a restaurant called "Get on Tapas" that I had not previously noticed. Does anyone know anything about this? I am more interested in the restaurant, we could totally use a decent tapas place down in this neck of the woods...

It's a fake restaurant front. That place is going to be the liquor store which is currently on 16th St next to the new ices place.

What a great idea for the landlord.. he is getting paid for the shoot right now before he collects rent from the new tenant.

The film is I hate Valentines Day and is a Nia Vardalos film and yea the Get on Tapas ( is that what it is ) is a set for the film, not a real restaurant

I was walking by before and they were shooting a scene where he screams at her "I want to have sex with you!". I said "I know you do, baby, and I want to have sex with you too", to a lot of giggles from stroller moms. Sigh. He'll always be Aidan to me.

Sigh, I must admit, I'm already over this movie and it hasn't even hit theaters yet.

Everywhere I go seems to be crawling with "I Hate Vday" crew. Sushi Yu, Regina's, Terrace Bagels, Carroll Gardens. The other day, they're were right outside my apt and I have yet to see a famous person amid all this. I might be speeding by to fast on my bike, or maybe I'm trying so hard to not appear to be looking for famous people that I actually am missing the ones that are very easy to see.

In related news, a couple of months ago, Joe Pesci and a bunch of other "guido" looking actors were filming on Prospect Avenue, near Regina's. I wonder what it is about this area these days.

Just so you know...John Corbett is a dick.

On the upside to everyplace crawling with them, people like my daughter have been making nice tips from the crew!

Walking by the set yesterday, we came upon Ronnie Kroell, better known as the runner up to the runner up on Bravo's Make Me a Supermodel. Hottie!

I saw both lead actors filming a scene in front of the "restaurant" and I still have yet to see anyone famous...

i'm guessing it'd be the same steve martin & meryl streep movie they were filming at the picnic house yesterday

there's a whole thread about it in the park slope section. but it just became a thread about how steve martin use to make so many great movies, but at this point has done nothing but garbage for the last 20 years
