FRESH DIRECT in 11216?

Two blocks away is the cutoff!

Fresh Direct delivery stops on my street at Franklin Avenue, but goes no further east. I checked the delivery area, and FD will deliver to Bay Ridge, "some" areas in PS South, and also the convenient and nearby areas of Westchester and Fairfield.

Is this only me, or is this unjust? FD will not deliver to the entire 11216 ZIP code, even though it borders 11238, which is completely covered. Yet, they will send their trucks to "Safe" neighborhoods like Scarsdale and Morristown, where everyone drives anyway to pick up their mesclun and SilkMilk at the local big box.

Who wants to join me in a petitition?

Its worth trying - at one time they wouldn't deliver across Flatbush (or was it Vanderbilt) but now they do.

It sucks living in a zip code where noone delivers, perhaps, if we can suceed in getting fd to service this area the other business will follow suit.

I sent them an e-mail about 2 weeks ago asking about if they had plans to expand into 11216 and 11213 and what they look at when deciding to or not to deliver in a given area and have not gotten a response? What's up with that?

I have friends in Bed-Stuy who are also grumbling about this and also willing to sign petitions, make phone calls, etc. I say hound them until they give in and serve us.

while I have no specific way of knowing how Fresh Direct compiles their info to help them determine where to deliver, I know that they are a very high tech company.

That said, I would guess that the best way to get their attention is to tell everyone you know to go to the website and punch in 11216 as your zipcode on the home page. The more inquiries they see the more demand they will see.

The second, and probably more important item that they are tracking is the email address of people in this zipcode that they can notify when they start delivery. The more email addresses they get of people in the zipcode who are interested in their delivery service, they sooner they will pay attention and expand their delivery zone.

Since they are a tech savvy company I'm sure they know what percentage of people who inquire will place orders in the first 1,2,3 months, etc. They just have to hit that point where it makes economic sense for them to hire more drivers, etc. so they can make money in 11216. Having those emails will constitute their intial marketing campaign for the neighborhood so do whatever you can to get people to sign up.

when I get late night deliveries (like the 10-11:30 time slot), FD ALWAYS comes early. usually around 9:30. those drivers could totally deliver to CH, too. they're not that busy in PH.

I have punched in my zip code many times for just that reason (11213).

But I wonder how they get the zip code from an email address.

after you punch in your zipcode and they tell you that they don't deliver to your area they give you a chance to input your email address so they can notify you when they start delivery in your area. They link your email to the zip you entered at the beginning. This way you will only be notified when they start delivery to that zip not to others that you don't care about.

You can enter the 11216 zip code here, and put in your email address. It can't hurt.

I have been going to the Fresh Direct web site often and plugging in 11216...to no avail. Today I came home to a brochure in my mail from FD inviting me to join and get $50 off delivery--joy, I thought! It was a cruel joke...I went on the site and STILL no delivery to 11216. What's up with that?
