B-Ball courts on Dean

Does anyone know what happened to the basketball courts on Dean bt/wn 6th and Carlton? They were all torn up yesterday...

They have finally started the renovation of the playground. This has been in the works for a couple of years. It was supposed to have started this past fall/winter.

Unfortunately, the Parks Dept didn't tell anyone that the contractor was going to start yesterday. Now the playground will be unavailable for at least the rest of the summer, and several planned events will have to be cancelled or postponed.

I am glad that they are renovating the park... but I mean they could have at least put up a few signs etc so people now whats going on...

I saw it yesterday and was surprised... thought it had something to do with CONED

Well, the plan was that signs were to be posted for some time before the start of renovation and all interested parties were to be notified. That never happened.

I called Bruce Ratner earlier. He told me that part of the neighborhood would be totally accessible to everyone in the neighborhood, as well as be responsible for the creation of 14,000 jobs. Or so.
