Internet Search HALP

Ugh...so, I am Googling something that has a lot of hits, and am hoping for a way (if not thru Google, through Yahoo or other search engine) where the key word(s) you are looking for are highlighted within the results.

E.g., if I am searching for "Peter Smith" and I get a 5 page article that somewhere mentioned Peter Smith buried way deep, will any of the search engines highlight "Peter Smith" so I don't have to read all 5 pages?

Or do you have to cut and paste and do some sort of find/replace search or something wacky to get this done?

    Hit the cached version.

All instances of search string are highlighted in yellow.

If you use Firefox as your browser, that's built-in. You can start typing on any page and it will automatically highlight the phrase you typed.

eh, am using firefox 3 and see the highlights (or rather BOLD) on the search results thru Google, but once you open the link it's not highlighted within the document.

how do i hit the cached version?

Yes, Firefox 5 should definitely have this.

In terms of hitting the cached version, look at the google results...it's the link at the end of each result.

Well, *second* to last anyway, just before "Similar pages" at the end of each search result item.

For future reference, if you have the google toolbar, there's an icon/button that resembles the tip of a fluorescent yellow highlighter - hit the button and it'll highlight all of the words in your toolbar search field, different colors for each word, too, which is nice.

yes! And this works in other apps like Word, Excel, etc. I use it so much in fact, that I find myself missing it while reading hardcopy.

While temping, I had a couple high-paying gigs that pretty much hired me because folks didn't know this feature and they thought they had tons of work :) The only problem was pretending to stay busy after I finished my searches so quickly--they thought I was going to have to read tons of documents looking for one word (luckily not a common word).
