BedStuy Foreclosure Advice

Does anyone know about any grassroots organizations/social justice efforts organizing around the foreclosure problem in BedStuy? Thanks!

Check with South Brooklyn Legal Services (718-237-5500). I know with certainty that they have represented at least one Bed Stuy woman who was victim to a mortgage scam and almost lost her home. I don't know if they've organized on a larger scale, but they might be able to refer you to a group that has. Hope this helps!

Try contacting Neighborhood Housing Services. They offer much assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure, as well as education on preventing it in the first place. In addition, NHS offers Home Maintenance Training classes (which are terrific) and other homeowner/landlord training. They are truly an amazing organization!
