how does it look like? what color? size?

i would suggest the same thing as tajmb, it sounds like candlenuts from your 1st post description. (indonesian calls it kemiri - a very common cooking ingredient in the area). mr google says it can be found in tropical countries, so i guess it must be commonly available in south america too.

I thought this was going to be about naming a plant (ie- I have a cactus named willie nelson and a former fern named tina turner...) I can't help with the op though ;)

lol. i never thought of naming my plants. it'll be difficult to remember if you have a lot of plants. i think i have more than 10 different plants here in the apt.

talking about naming, i read a funny article on yahoo today

its a white looking bean, and from what i remember native to south america. thats why i ruled out the candle nut.
