Can anyone recommend a good jewelry maker for some simple jewelry repair? Also someone (possibly same person) who does necklace restringing? Thanks...

I went to Facets on 7th Ave to have a very old set of pearls restrung. It took them awhile to get them to me but they did a great job. They have alot of nice things there....

Yes, Facets is a very nice store. I've gotten some very interesting and lovely things there. One time, however, I was set on buying this really great necklace ... which, as it turned out, was quite expensive. The salesperson actually told me that that particular piece was not something one should buy for oneself ... too expensive ... find someone to buy it for me she advised!!

I thought that was kind of nice ... and a bit shocking to hear from a salesperson as you're pulling your credit card out of your bag.

(and no, I didn't buy the necklace ... and, nobody gave it to me either ... )
