crap. I can't think of what the name of the store is, or even what street it's on....there's a little store around the corner from 7th Ave. (on the north side of the street) that has candles, wind chimes, etc. I think it's near Carroll.

Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Ok, I looked at www.smalltownbrooklyn.com and I think I'm talking about "A Healing Place" on Garfiled....just east of 7th Ave. on the north side

Wind chimes are cool... I build my own out of chicken wings, spare ribs, and hubcaps.

The place you are looking for is on Garfield - north side, a few doors up off of 7th. Not sure about the hours as it appears the dude that runs the place has to factor in at least 5 bong hits a day in addition to selling a box of candles.

So, it's a little hit and miss. I do seem to recall him being open by 7:30 am on most weekdays... He must be a wake and baker.

I must! Especially since I really only want them to annoy my neighbors. They are in for a sweet, tinkly surprise.

Please don't be that neighbor. In my last apartment I ran a covert mission and stole my neighbors windchimes by scaling a fence with a opened up wire hanger because they were so irritating and they refused to take them down.

    Just don't do it.

I think the windchimes are pretty and on a breezy afternoon are relaxing, but if you've ever tried to go to sleep on a windy night, they seem like they are from the devil himself (or herself). If you put them up, please think about your neighbors and get ones that are not quite as loud as car alarms. :D

At this point I can't tell if people are just joking or not but the sound carries in a way you don't anticipate as it bounces off of things.

I was going crazy with one of these in the back. I never said anything but I imagine THEIR cooperators ( it was a coop) had them remove the damn things. If you live in the country, on a farn, hang one every 20 feet. In a city they just are an annoyance.

Yes, please don't be that neighbor. Unless you are deliberately seeking to be a clueless a$$hole -- unless your beef with your neighbors has reached scorched-earth, blood-feud, Mafia-vendetta levels -- please don't be that neighbor.

Also consider that due to wind, acoustics, fences, etc, sound can pass over nearby yards and be louder several houses away. And then you'll just make new enemies all up and down the block.

Friends don't let friends put up wind chimes in urban areas.

I am pretty sure The Chairman on 7th Avenue next door to The Claypot sells them, but, i would hate to live next door to you.

I have to agree, wind chimes in an urban setting do not mix, I had downstairs neighbors years ago who had some and it drove me bonkers!
