Yet another sad announcement of its kind...Applewares closed this week, and they're moving eveything out.

Great store, poor choice of location....how would anyone know they exist?

Subject: there was nothing IN it

The actual variety of what was IN the store was skimpy. And expensive. As if all of Tarzian (the fancy one)'s window display was moved into that location. And that's it. No wonder they are closing!

Yeah, that place sucked donkey ass... I remember I asked about a pot holder once and the guy working behind the counter sucker punched me in the sternum.

    Where was it again?

it was basically the backside of Applewood, no? Seemed expensive and too specialized.

It was a poor location, very little selection and high prices. Tarzian West has much more stock, i went into Applewares once and bought a very nice kitchen knife, the man behind the counter was quite helpful. but, honestly, I couldn't see myself going back there, they really didn't carry much.

Are they having a sale? Or just moving everything out? It was an odd location. I wandered in there once by chance, saw soem things I kinda liked but not for the steep price.

They already had the sale - a very good sale, too. I've been on Applewood's e-mail list for several years, that's how I found out about it.

Nice people, great restaurant, probably thought the neighborhood would support the tariff - piss-poor store location.

applewood the restaurant, is on 11th st, by 7th ave.
and i think applewares is just behind it on the next block, 10th st, by 7th. i've never been to the store myself, but have walked pass it several times, they dont seem to have many things in the store.

they had a lot of le creuset pots. personally, i've found a number of them on the street in trash; it's amazing what a good brillo pad will accomplish.

I thought it was a place that sold stolen mac software, so I was like...... DUH, of course they closed down. alas, the fruit did not grow on my tree this morning.

hey, I like the A&S suggestion. no idea if it's suitable space, but it would make them closer to me, so I vote YES!!
