Timid Writer seeks group....

So, in an effort to try and kick myself going with my writing, I'm looking for a friendly, supportive, not-too-stressful writing group that meets somewhere in the general Clinton Hill vicinity (would also consider Williamsburg, Prospect Heights, or Park Slope). You know, meet once a week, share stuff over coffee, if you have to miss a week people don't give you the hairy eyeball.

Anyone know of anything?

I don't know of any groups specifically, but I've had good luck on meetup.com when I was looking for a work-from-home lunch group. You might find a writer's group there.

Yeah, tried Meetup -- the only groups they had all met in Manhattan. I'm stubborn enough to want to hold out for something a little more local. :?

Would you be interested in starting a group?

I live in CH and am a lazy, undisciplined writer who needs a group and the deadlines of a regular meeting to light a fire under my fat ass. Hey, maybe I need a diet group, too! But one thing at a time.

What do you think? If we could recruit just a few more people, we'd be set.
