I typically love insects.
I have no idea what this is and it makes me feel really, really squeamish?

    See how the slimy slime makes its body glisten.
    Then they topped it off with squirts of ketchup on thee frontal area.

    Yeah, those look like larvae coming off its back.

    Not sure but I guess its a Toe Biter.All the pics I saw didn't have any eggs so Im sending you this cool pic. Found it in a pond in Gulfport Mississippi.

    Hi David,
    This is a Predatory Water Bug and it has many of the same common names as the more commonly photographed genus Lethocerus, including Giant Water Bug, Electric Light Bug and Toe-Biter. This is however a different genus, Belostoma. Males of this genus carry the eggs which the female cements onto his back.

    Here's a toad that carries the eggs not on her back but INSIDE her back...



    During mating the male sweeps the eggs onto the female's back, they adhere to her and become embedded in the skin. In some species tadpoles hatch from the skin after about 4 weeks, but in the Surinam toad they develop directly into toadlets, emerging from the mother's back after 3-4 months.

    Doctorj , that bug looks so pretty.The blue on the tail looks awesome. And the wings look like they have a black fish net pattern. Nice. :)
