NYPD helicopter in Prospect Park

I was in Prospect Park this morning at about 9:30 when a NYPD helicopter started circling. It flew around, lower and lower, before coming into the north end of the Long Meadow about 5 feet above the ground. It hovered there, kicking up a huge amount of dust and grass, for several minutes before taking off.

ANyone else see this? Any idea why they would do this? There were kids, dogs, and people sitting on benches quite close.

Looks like maybe a training exercise? I imagine that Monday mornings you've got the least amount of people in the park....

i saw the same helicopter flying very close to the watchtower over by atlantic terminal... thought it was really strange that was around 8:30am

It was definitely a training exercise, however, if they think that a couple helicopters and a heavily equipped SWAT team is going to do any good when I hatch my master plan then, clearly, they have another thing coming...

Dont know about the park. But there was a helicopter hovering over Clinton Hill along while this am about 10ish. I gather it has something to do with police on Grand Ave off Fulton St and Lefferts. According to Gothamists there was some abduction.Then as I was heading to the city at about 3 ish, Myrtle Ave tween N Portland and Carlton was roped off with the yellow police tape and traffic was diverted to Park Ave.Lots of police there too, dont know why though.Good lord. Things are happening in broad daylight

DR, please advise as to time and place, as I have a master plan of my own and would hate to have to compete with someone else's. It would be just as bad as showing up at an event wearing the same outfit as someone else.

they make those remote control helicoptors bigger every year, soon they'll be bigger than the real thing.

I saw this helicopter too. I think the pilot was talking on his cellphone while landing.

There were 2 NYPD cars along with a helicopter on the grass when I entered the park at 6 this morning (Tues)
