car accident at south portland/lafayette

at about 11am this morning, a tan maxima drove onto the NE corner of south portland and lafayette. i heard screeching tires and then crunching metal. a male pedestrian was knocked down. his female friend was tending to him as i quickly called 911. less than 4 minutes later, the nypd showed up.

i'm not sure what happened to the driver as i didn't get close enough to see. ppl were trying to open his door to help him out.

the fence at the house is completely removed and replaced by yellow police tape.

i had to run-- does anyone else know what happened to the driver/pedestrian this morning?
