Are you looking for just the tire or the whole wheel?

Mike at The Bicycle Station is a really good guy and the staff there come with far, far less attitude than the folks over at R&A Cycle in Park Slope.

thanks all. I dropped the bike off at bicycle station today. great service, no attitude. for a new (entire) wheel they're charging $54. The place at Smith and Atlantic (not sure of the name) wanted $70+

ps. i guess i'm the only chump who didn't know to lock my front wheel to the bike rack cause it's the easiest to steal?

Hmm, not exactly related but does anyone have a recommendation for a good child bike seat? The idea of wiping out with a child on the bike has made me put off this decision, but I've decided it's time to man up. It would be for a 2.5 year old that's closer to a 3.5 year old in height and weight. I gather it's not a good idea to get a front seat, or am I wrong?

I'm just a casual, occasional rider on a cruiser bike who'd like to get more exercise in.

    Thanks!

I tend to ride in the street to get to where I like to ride so I would never risk my boys life that way. Even though (unlike most riders) I follow the same direction as traffic, I've still had close calls some times.

Also as an aside, I don't think my boy would want to stare at my sweaty A@@ all morning. :-k

FYI both wheels are easy to steal, and both should be locked. An easy method is a short U-lock to secure the free wheel to the frame.

    Subject: Fulton Bicycles

    I use:

    Fulton Bicycles
    1580 Fulton St
    Brooklyn, NY 11213
    (718) 778-2887‎

The owners are very nice and helpful and they charge realistic prices to do work. They are full service!

I purchased my bike from them in May and I highly reccomend their services.

It was locked up overnight in front of the kodachrome building on spencer st. Guess i'll be investing in a second lock!
