Clothing Donation

Can anyone please suggest a church or store where I can donate some gently used clothes and shoes. I was originally going to place it in the big metal bins on 4th ave, but I've now learned that most of that is then sold in foreign countries. I don't need a receipt or anything, I just want to pass-on some clothes that someone less fortunate could use. Thanks

Salvation Army, St. Francis Xavier, CHIPS, or you can just hang them over your front fence and they'll be gone by morning.

GAP Farmers Market on Saturday has a textile/clothing donation point, just inside the park.

I have a problem with some (most) of the Salvation Army's social policy positions so that's a no go for me. And I don't know where the GAP stuff goes.

But, there is no better charity than Housing Works - and they have a thrift store in Brooklyn Heights - I took a car service there last time and dropped off 6 big bags of clothing.
