Putnam and Grand

Anyone know what happened on Putnam and Grand, I just got home and Putnam is blocked off between Grand and Downing. Lots of cops kicking the ground and looking at stuff with flashlights. Another shooting? Egad I wish they'd pick another block, there's lots of kids playing around there when I walk by (not to mention men, women, and other assortments of normal people).

Someone was shot in both arms and legs.

I walked by around 8:30 last night - police told me there was a shooting on the north side of Putnam, just east of Grand and that the victim was going to live.

Oh that's what it was. I was wondering why the cop car that's been posted at Putnam/Grand all day. I missed all the fireworks getting home late last night.

Officers still posted at corner of Grand Ave and Putnam and it is like a ghost town when they are.

The troubled corner of Grand and Putnam avenues, with a reputation for drug-dealing, was the site of another shooting on Aug. 21.

A gunman shot a livery car passenger in the arm and leg through the gypsy cab’s window at 7:30 pm. The victim was taken to Brooklyn Hospital by the driver.

There was another shooting at this corner in May, which sparked a protest by concerned neighbors and Councilwoman Letitia James (D–Fort Greene).
