Wine Exchange on Vandy
old time brooklyn
Months back I went out for some win after 9pm and Fermented was closed, Mei Liquors on Flatbush was closed, the joint on Park b/een 7th and Flat was closed and Wine Exchange was closed.
Tonight, different story. All were closed but Wine Exchange. Nice business move.

sneakyonstmarkspretty crappy wine selection, pedro needs to get a real somelier!!! -
old time brooklynI'd rather pick my wines out elsewhere but when it's late, hey, who cares. It was open. And that's the point. -
thelambchopcrappy and expensive. but, yeah, in an emergency...and it's crazy that 9pm=late for a wine shop in the summertime! -
gypsyI tried giving wine exchange a chance, esp. because it is an option later (I think they close at 9 on Sundays though FYI) but after buying 2 bottles that had turned I won't go there again. Fermented keeps there wine really well and has a great selection imo. -
old time brooklynDid you take the "turned" bottles back? -
old time brooklynAnd their selection is fine. For the summer, they have nice cheap $10 whites. Though I didn't see the VRAC that they used to have which was the best one. -
thelambchopselection is "fine" but not very good. yes, you can find a decent bottle there if you know what you're looking for, but it'll cost you $5 more than elsewhere. -
gypsyYes I returned them. They wouldn't give me a refund, made me get another bottle which was annoying. The white I returned was maderized, I just don't think they store their wine properly. -
old time brooklynLegally, I'm not sure you can get a refund. Alcohol can't be returned I don't think. -

regardless, any business that wants to keep its customers should offer a full refund -- and an apology -- for a spoiled product.
fwiw, as much as i like to support the ladies at fermented, where i am a regular, they refused to take back a bottle from me once that had a rotten cork.
bad business. -
theindecisionpigeonok i can't actually vouch for how late they're open, but the liquor store on the corner of washington and bergen is like 1/2 a block from my apt and is open pretty late from what i've seen - and they have wines. a cooler of white chillin in the front, and a surprisingly ok selection of non-chilled whites and reds for a corner liquor store! -
