Gunshots thurs morn on Franklin St. Johns

Around 2:30 - 3:00 am thursday this morning I heard some trash talking outside on either Franklin or St. John's followed by three gun shots. Anyone else hear this or was it in my dream? From my window I didnt see anything and afterwards it got awfully quiet. No I did not call the cops (I had no info to give them) nor did any show up. In hindsight I probably should have called the police but I since I was sleeping I wasn't 100% certain and I was very tired.

my roommate and i heard a whole lot of yelling on the corner of st. john's and st. francis (right near our house) - i think it was around 2:30 but i'm not sure. anyway, it quieted down eventually and we didn't hear any shots. i'm hoping this was the same incident?

I recommend calling whenever you hear shots, even if you don't know where they're coming from exactly. It will at least get a patrol car to drive through the area, which could help deter any further shooting. I hear them from time to time--haven't in a long time, thank goodness-- and, because I spend most of my time in the middle of a long apartment without a view of the street, I report them based on what I hear. At the very least it will let the police know where there is stuff going on.

If one lives there long enough, you realize its not just an quality of life aberration, but part of normal life in that part of brooklyn.

My mother told me that they like to fire their guns in the air at night during the summer.

That sounds like a nice wholesome activity.
