Has anyone ever joined a local CSA?

I'm wondering if anyone has been a member of one of a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) groups. We were members this past year of the Cobble Hill CSA but I'm curious about the other groups in Clinton Hill and Park Slope. Thanks!

No, but I'm curious -- how was the Cobble Hill CSA? Was it cost effective? Did most of your meat and produce come from the CSA? Did you have trouble with storage and monthly deliveries?

The websites for other csas are parkslopecsa.org and clintonhillcsa.org, if you haven't checked them already.

You know you're from the South when the first thing you think of for CSA is Confederate States of America...

The Cobble Hill CSA was pretty good. We had to go every Tues. to pick-up on Court St. but it was easy to ride down the bike path on Bergen.
It averages out to about $14/week. Some weeks were more exciting and rewarding than others but we learned more about burdock and salsify than me might otherwise (or might care to). My boss belongs to a CSA in Queens and seemed to get about 4 times the leafy greens than we did, which is the reason I'd be curious to hear from someone from the Clinton Hill group. Either way, we'll join one next year.
