...i'm part of a book launch/reading tonight (9/2) at the cornelia street cafe.

the book in question is called Submerged: Tales from the Basin. it's an anthology of writing and art about hair and about new orleans, and part of its proceeds benefit groups working with katrina survivors. more here.

i'll be reading a piece about new orleans, the city where my heart (but maybe not my arterial walls...) most wants to live. i'll be reading the same piece at events on the 15th and the 19th -- the one on the 19th is at our own Bristen's.

i'd love it if folks came.

    hey y'all.

I'm reading two more times, this week:

    Monday, 9/15, at 6pm
The City University of New York
    The Graduate Center

    365 Fifth Avenue, Room 9204
    New York, NY, 10016

    Refreshments to follow

    and

    Friday 9/19 at 7pm
    at our own Bristen's

Franklin, between St. Johns and Sterling

This will be a laid back affair, with some music, too. Bristen's is BYOB and a cool joint, so bring some sazerac and come hang out. And meet my mother, if you're nice and don't tell on me about anything.
