General practitioner who is taking new patients?

I've been casually looking for a doctor here in Park Slope for a few months but everyone I call from friend's references isn't accepting new patients till like 2012 and I need to get to the doc asap. Does anyone have a GP who is accepting new patients/who I might be able to see this week? I don't really care a whole lot about the location but would really like to keep it to BK or lower manhattan. My insurance is accepted almost everywhere so thats not an issue. Im not actively ill or in a walk-in clinic type situation, but I'm about to embark on a few weeks of possible travel and want to get this done before everything hits the fan...

Not in Brooklyn or lower Manhattan, but 5 stops from 7th Ave. Q station (i.e., to 34th Street)---I highly recommend any of the internists at the Murray Hill Medical Group on 34th and 2nd Ave.

They're affiliated with NYU. Their bios are online, and you can even view their appt availability online.

yeah, i go to the murray hill medical group too, and i recommend it.

for walk in situation, my husband used to go to this doctor near our apt, right along the west side of the circle at bartel pritchard square, but he stopped going there because the doctor kept drawing his blood for every single visit. lol. can't remember his name, but the name sounds korean.

so now he goes to another doctor (for walk-in), still at bartel pritchard, right next to the pharmacy store around the corner, across connecticut muffin. sorry, can't remember the name either.

Ditto for Murray Hill Medical Group.

I highly recommend Dr. Joseph Devito. He is very calm and takes the time to explain your symptoms, ailments and course of treatment.

Husband just started as a new patient with Dr. Larry Kurz, whose office is right near Grand Army Plaza. Really happy with the office and the doc.

Hi, For years now my family uses Dr. Allen Lee on 72 Street in Bay ridge. He is wonderful, understanding and does not pump you up with anti-biotics (unless you really need them) He is accepting new patients. Here's his phone number 718-748-1320.

I would highly recommend Dr. Wallace at Murray Hill Medical Group. I don't think I've met a finer doctor (and I've had to deal with many). He's really patient, thorough, kind, and super smart. Every person I've sent to him has thanked me.

Subject: Family Physicians accepting new patients

Dr. Maggie Carpenter, at the corner of Ninth St. and Eighth Ave., is very good.

In lower Manhattan, I recommend Dr. Scott Andrews, a young family physician just starting out. 646.420.6553

Also, Dr. Moses Shalit, also a family physician in lower Manhattan. 212.482.2400

Husband unable to reach Dr. Kurz. Finally got through to the office. Looks like he retired in January. Might have been nice to notify his patients...

I go to Michael Raffinan and adore him!
