Safe? Sane? how is that area? Any concerns?

I'm kind of in love with that Isabella building on Washington between Fulton and Atlantic. Seems perfect to be smack in the middle of Ft Greene/CH and Prospect Heights.

Everything looks better than Greenpoint, where I've been for years, so I don't want to feel like I have blinders on.

I used to live south of Fulton on Washington (around Park Place) but I frequented the Fulton area and never felt unsafe/had problems. I did however once witness 5 dudes beat up one guy outside of the post office by St James and Fulton at 10AM on a Saturday morning. I called the police.

I think compared to other parts of Fulton it is really nice!

Good bustling area. Not too attractive architecturally as I am sure you have noticed if you have walked around the immediate vicinity. But the train is right there and yes you are smack dab in the middle of all of the cool amenities that CH, FG and PH afford. Those of us who live around Fulton are all hoping the that the BID that is proposed for this stretch succeeds in getting retail going so that the street life on Fulton is improved. Overall if you like these neighborhoods though this would be a great location.

It is a safe area near a lot of more developed neighborhoods. Fulton itself has a friendly vibe, but it's "sketchy" to some due to a lot of boarded up buildings and methadone clinic users. I think the next couple of years will see this area really transform. I have certainly enjoyed living here.

While I appreciate why people want to know about neighborhoods, can we have some threads on something other than "is such and such corner safe"? I guess I should just post some...

yeah. we should be proactive to make more 'other' posts, however these posts are very helpful for people too. There's room for all, I think
