disturbing medical emergency on street corner

OK, so this didn't take place in Park Slope, but I have no idea where else to post this and wonder if anyone knows anything about this?

So i was in a starbucks on a very busy city street corner facing the window yesterday. All of a sudden a man fell and started having some sort of seizure, with blood spurting continuously out of his eye sockets (and i think nose and mouth), and he was jerking all over the ground for about 5-10 minutes. If he wasnt having a seizure in addition, i would have thought he was stabbed repeatedly in the face.

Luckily a large crowd formed around the man, and within 5 minutes of calling, the ambulance was there and he came to his senses and the blood stopped streaming, and he seemed to be OK again.

Anyone know what this may have been? I thought it was some sort of epileptic seizure, but i've never seen blood come from someone's face like that aside from hollywood movies. I'm still traumatized from having witnessed it...

I looked at the ebola description briefly, and it did mention hemmoraging in the nose and mouth but not eyes. And there has never been a case reported in the united states....

I feel like i'm going to be forever haunted by the image until i figure out what it was! I guess i should have asked the paramedics but it didnt seem appropriate....

Sweetie.. Do you have a friend who is a physician? I would ask them the question.

I happen to have a daughter who is a doc so I will try to remember to ask her and post back. I understand how this image is so haunting to you.

I saw a pretty good splattering of blood at the SE corner of 15th St and 4th Ave this morning. I wonder what happened there?

I would have inspected it more, but one of the gristled old guys that "lives" in that building was sitting in the way.

Along with Palin's nomination, I think this is another sign of The Rapture...

    That's really disturbing.

One day I was taking a subway back home from manhattan and on the bridge, somebody right next-next me had some kind of seizure. It was very crowded train but he fell from the seat to floor and started to develop twitch, his face turning dalk brown kind of color it was so scarely. We all wnated to do something to help him but nobody had any idea what would help him. From Grand st. to DeKalb felt longest. We stopped train at DeKalb and
he got some help....I wished I was a doctor at that time! Looking somebody suffering like that really makes you feel helpless.
