hi all--my boyfriend and i are making our way to brooklyn at the beginning of october and are not quite sure what the hotel situations are like. would like to stay in a decent area for a decent price(on the company's dime, of course) and are hoping to make arrangements before arriving.
also--where's a good, affordable storage place to stash our goods?

much help appreciated from the middle of the usa!

There aren't a lot of hotel options in Brooklyn, sadly. If you're looking to be in the downtown area and don't want to shell out for the Marriott, the new "Nu Hotel" is actually pretty nice. Clean rooms, sleek european-inspired furniture, complimentary (very tasty) pastries and coffee in the morning. It isn't cheap still, but will save you probably around $100 a night over the Marriott.

My family stays at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge when more than can fit into my apt come to visit. They've gotten pretty good prices, the rooms are nice, and the staff is SUPER nice. I say this because my mom, grandmother, great aunt, and two odd cousins can be quite the handful, but the staff took care of them. Good luck and welcome to Brooklyn!

    On Union off 4th ave there's a Hilton (I think it's a Hilton)

Just cross over on to 5th ave and you are in lovely Park Slope, fine dinning and great bars, plus Prospect Park!
