Anybody know about the new resaurant at 833 Union (6th/7th) that is replacing the disastrous Black Pearl? It's listed on the Buy In Brooklyn web site (http://www.buyinbrooklyn.com/#Participants) as "Busacco" but I was unable to turn up any additional info anywhere. Any sleuths out there?

Met them at the Restaurant Tour this evening. The owner was at Gotham B&G. The chef was at Judson Grill. The menu is swanky refined American with a bar menu.

Um, their pretzels last night kicked ass but they didn't let us inside to peek.

at this point, i've eaten three times for dinner off the bar menu, once off the regular menu, and was there once for brunch. excellent every time. i'd put the burger on par with James's burger as the best in the neighborhood. they have a pretty unique beer selection. their chef has a Le Benardin pedigree, and the brunch menu has some unsual options, such as a breakfast take on dim sum.

it's been very well reviewed, which is good, since business wasn't looking so hot it's first few weeks of opening. last time i was there, it certainly looked like things were picking up.

you'd think that location wouldn't be a kiss of death, being across from the Co-op and all, but it just feels hidden on that block. Tea Lounge sticks out so much more. still, though, i actually don't think it's that much of a stretch to call it one of our neighborhood's best.
