It has been kind of lacking lately for me

Plus the comment came from the dude who owns like 80% of the bars here.

I like Greenpoint's bar scene, it's like Billysburg lite

I noted that also. He definitely has a vested interest in talking up the area, it seems like they maybe could have had an independent viewpoint. At least they identified him as an owner.

Roff is an owner of Franklin Park, which the article refers to as being in a nearby neighborhood and also is an owner of Southpaw which is in Park Slope.

I don't think he owns any bars in Prospect Heights although I think that with Franklin Park he partnered with someone who owns a few places there.

I have no idea what he owns and doesn't own, other than Franklin Park as reported in the article. I would still say that he has a vested interest in promoting the Prospect Heights bar scene. For the record, I have read more than one article listing Franklin Park as being in Prospect Heights, and further, as Franklin Ave being the dividing line, FWIW.

Toly (the other FP owner) owns Soda and Noona. They're all in bed together so it behooves them all to talk up the whole area as being "Hott."

Yes, he does have a vested interest and he's intelligent to play up the neighborhood bar scene because it will increase the likelihood of people trying his establishments. No surprise there.

I, for one, am always happy to see Prospect Heights get positive press, even if it's mere hype.
