new music on 5th ave.

I just learned that the Lighthouse Tavern at Carroll and 5th Ave. is having weekly live music on Tuesdays at 9pm. The shows are free and acoustic. I've been looking for a local small-room kind of vibe (not the big stages of Southpaw and Tea Lounge) and this looks like the spot. I caught some players there last week and they were great (don't remember their names).

That's great! I wish they had more live music more often.

Are they actual shows or open mic nights?

Bar Reis has some cool "Gypsy Jazz" as it's called on Wed. nights. They've been doing it quite a awhile and attract a really talented bunch.
