I grew up right around the corner...its a decent neighborhood, mostly families..

as for primary schools, theres a catholic school up on 37th st, and one near newkirk projects...

2 train is always running, 5 during rush hours...

target/circuit city/applebees mall is right there...

never felt unsafe, but then again, i grew up right there...

Thank you micheleisabel, for the opinion of someone who lived here. We are a bi-racial family and are thinking of moving there. Finding a good school is the most important thing along with finding a safe diverse neighbourhood. We will be looking at a home on Sunday and then walking around to check out the area. Thanks again.

You probably know that Brooklyn College is a few blocks from that location, and there is a public elementary school about two blocks away on Glenwood and one block south of Bedford. My grandmother taught there years ago (90's) and it was a very good school. There are also several other elementary schools in the area.
