Subject: In other news: I feel like I've been hit by a truck

I have the worst cold ever (and yes, some of you PS board members might note I get sick constantly. This is the truth.)

ASIDE from Zicaam and that horrible theraflu crap (which I cant even choke down) tell me how to make mahself feel better. Its been almost four days and its only getting worse.

On a sidenote, please feel free to volunteer to bring me DVDs since I have no tv and I think I've watched every possible episode of intervention/weeds/house available online...

Aw, poor thing. Chicken soup? Homemade. Boyfriend needs to make it for you. Ginger ale - lots of it. Hot tea. Just drink something constatntly. Cozy up on the couch with movies and gossip rags.

When I am sick I like to drown my illness in manhattans and hot toddies. Do ya have any whiskey or bourbon?

Seriously I'll bring ya some supplies on my way home from work. Let me know.

one emergen-c an hour. you can't OD on the vitamins or minerals in there. the traditional cure is supposed to involve boatloads of vit A but that builds up in fatty tissue and can be toxic. I'm fighting something - my throat is DYING - and I just keep tossing emergen-c into whatever beverage I'm consuming. it can be s scary thing - sigg water bottles can handle seltzer but not seltzer WITH emergen-c in it. heh. good luck babe!

Hot Lemon tea (decaffinated): lemon tea bag, hot water, squeeze a quarter wedge of lemon in it too then add honey. Drink this all day nonstop.

My mom used to put a couple of bananas in the blender with a can of frozen orange juice concentrate when we were sick. Lots of healthy stuff for a sicky plus it soothes a sore throat.

Copious amounts of Nyquil. Pass out until the cold is gone. This works for me as I, too, have the immune system of a 5 year old at pre-school.

i was sick a few weeks ago and alternated between traditional medicinals' echinacea plus tea and gypsy cold care tea.

i also took a few zinc tablets each day.

hope you feel feel better soon.

I recommend gargling with hot salt water with baking soda and smoking KOOL Cigarettes. Remember to exhale through your nose. The menthol really burns the virus out of your head. :^o

Careful with nasal spray. After a few days they can have reverse effects. That's how I got a sinus infection last time.

Get a small piece ginger root and a lime. Peel ginger root and lime, cut into small pieces add 3-4 cups of water and boil over a high flame for about 15 minutes. Strain out the ginger and lime add sugar or honey and drink the resulting tea while its still hot.

It will cut whatever mucus you have in your throat and chest and also helps to clear the sinuses. Plus, its far cheaper than buying cold medicine.

Sounds yucky but works and quickly. Boil onion, ginger, garlic and honey in a pot. I just throw couple of each and tablesppons of honey cuz you need to drink over the course of the day.Add lemon .Add sugar if you like and see how quickly your cold/flu symptoms disappear. You can also rub vics on your throat or chest along with this.Feel better all.

I've heard of that onion/garlic thing before too, but couldn't convince myself to try it. If you can get out, buy a around 5 heads of garlic (not cloves!) and some chicken, jalapenos. Spicy garlic chicken soup. Get your nose running and clear up the head. :D
