Brooklyn Public Library?

What's the deal with the deserted lot on 18th ave with the janky sign hanging off it's chain link fence reading "Brooklyn Public Library"? It looks so sad!

I dragged my friend over there to take it, as I don't own a camera.

Is this all that's left of the Kensington library? It used to be on Ditmas Avenue about a block or two from 18th Avenue. When did it close??

The Kensington Branch is still up and running on Ditmas Ave as far as I know -- but I have seen a rumor that there were/are plans to move Kensington Branch to the 18th Ave location shown in this photo. Don't know if or when that will happen although they have been planning a renovation of Kensington Branch for some time.
