What was happening at the Williamsburg Bridge 10/14/08 8pm?

Does anyone know what was happening at the bridge at about 8pm on 10/14(Tues. night)? Many police and fire trucks. They wouldn't let anyone Manhattan bound on the bridge.

    Yeah, It was weird. vehicles were still coming off from Manhattan. It looked like whatever was happening was actually on the S 4th bridge going over the BQE. It was weird.
