Where to send my compost?

I just moved back to the area and brought with me my electric composter (i know, it sound counter intuitive, but it uses like 10 cents of electricity a year...or something super low like that.) Anyway, back in St. Louis they had separate garbage dumpsters and yard waste dumpsters...and I'd always put my compost into the yard waste dumpster where it would be trucked off with yard clippings to the city compost heap. Now that I've moved back to NYC, I'm not sure what to do with my compost. Any ideas?

Is there a compost COLLECTION site? I've read that you can GET COMPOST, but I'd like to get rid of mine.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

There are some dropoff sites in Brooklyn - one on Union between 4th and 5th and one at the Fort Greene Greenmarket. Here's a good web site:

If you post on Freecycle that you have compost on offer, you will have NO problem getting people to come to you to take it away!
