Hotels in the area?

I tried searching for this but I couldn't find any info about hotels specific to Ft Green/Clinton Hill. Anyone know of hotels in this area? I want to find a place to put my parents who are visiting but my apt. is too small. I'd like a nice place in my neighborhood - they are on a budget (who isn't these days) so ideally I want it to be under $150/night. Any ideas?

Thank you!

Under $15O a night? There *might* be some SRO slophouses in bedstuy/bushwick that would fit the bill.

Park Slope Parents (I know, I know) recently mentioned Prince Hotels, with locations in Park Slope, Clinton Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, and Bay Ridge, and ridiculously low prices. I don't know anything about the rooms, but here's a link---> http://www.princehotelgroup.com/clintionhill.html

Subject: Need local hotel? Check out Brooklyn Hospitality!

There are affordable and safe vacation rentals in the area that would be perfect. You can find them at www.brooklynhospitality.com. They have three properties in Clinton Hill, Stuyvesant Heights and East Williamsburg - all newly renovated. The prices per night range from $125 for a room, $150 (one bedroom apartment) to $300 (3 bedroom apartment). Perfect for you. Check it out!

For nice accommodations, you might try the bed and breakfast at the Akwaaba mansion in Bed Stuy: http://www.akwaaba.com/.

Nice neighborhood and I think they have rooms in your price range.

The Nu Hotel on Atlantic @ Smith is good but a little over your price range. I think it's $175/night maybe a little more.

Ive had the same problem finding a place for my parents in Ft. Greene that is affordable that they feel comfortable in. Unfortunately, I haven't really come upon a solution yet. For the Xmas holiday I've been checking out the "vacation rentals" on cragislist.

    Good luck!

In case you don't get the joke, don't put your parents in the Prince Hotel on Lefferts or for that matter the Washington Avenue Hotel between Greene and Lafayette. They are both short-term hotels with whores in the hall and the smell of crack in the air. Unless, of course, your parents swing that way...

When my parents come they stay at the Comfort Inn in Gowanus. It's just a short car ride away (they drive to the city)

You might want to just book a reservation at the Marriott

My parents were eventually priced out of the Marriott, otherwise it's very convenient.

    Subject: Accommodation in Fort Greene

    Hi,

There is accommodation to be had in Fort Greene, and not at the prices like the Marriott Hotel charges.

Those are on Fort Greene Place. Check out:

And then there are other B & Bs in Park Slope, Carroll Garden, Bed Stuy.

Oh, yuck...really? Damn, I'm really not going to pass along places I've heard about without knowing anything other than a name from a listserv I thought I trusted. That's way more naive than I usually am...sorry about that!
