Anyone know a good bakery for

Strawberry shortcake? I need a slice and some for a friend who is laid up with a bum leg and craving a piece. I would love to surprise him with a piece. I really dont want just a lot of whipped cream but good cake made with butter not margarine like Pillsbury taste and fresh strawberries not artificial. All suggestions are welcome and lcoation is not a problem as I drive.Thanks!

Carmine's in midtown has the best strawberry shortcake-- just as you describede it. It has fresh strawberries, home-made whipped cream and a delectable cake that has the right amount of sweetness and moistness.

What about Junior's. I know they make a slamming strawberry cheesecake and they use fresh strawberries.

Thanks....will give Carmines a try. Juniors is so so and a last resort.By the way is that the complete name and do you have a location. Cant seem to get a number for it.

love the junior's original cheesecake but the strawberry is definitely meh. there are better options.

Tina's cake fair on Ralph and Foster has been there for decades and is great for just about any cake. Even their sugar free is delicious.
