trick or treat!

New to the neighborhood (Madison b/w Bedford and Franklin) and was curious about whether or not we would have trick or treaters around for Halloween, since the neighborhood has such a suburban, community vibe to it. I realize this isn't the norm for NYC kids but wondered if maybe it was different depending on the neighborhood?

I would love to have some little trick or treaters that night!

Thoughts? :D

It all depends. Some blocks have lots, others have little to no traffic. Even on blocks with trick or treaters kids don't stop at every house, so if you plan on giving out candy keep your exterior lights on, decorate, and perhaps hang outside for a bit (weather permitting). You might want to start by asking around with your neighbors or the block association (if you have one).

In case you give up, there is an organized halloween house tour/ trick or treat route in Ft Greene, in the area right around DeKalb and Washington. Its worth going over there to check it out if you don't have anything else going on.
