new to the area looking for stuff to do!

We are new to the neighborhood and are looking for any and all recommendations, especially for kid-friendly stuff. Our daughter is 15 months old. Anyone else have kids around that age and potentially interested in playdates? I'm a stay at home mom so my schedule is flexible. Also looking for a cool bar or two. We found Sepia and liked it a lot. Thanks!

I can't say I know where to take a 15 mo y/o, but can say you are welcome to join several of us tomorrow's event at Franklin Park.

If he had learned of Brooklynian 24 months ago (15 +9), would there even be a child?

Member since March 2006, no children.... causation? correlation?

Relevance? ...well, only if I mention the Brooklyn Children's Museum in Crown Heights.

Hang out at Underhill Playground for a bit (cnr Prospect); won't take long to meet like-situationed people. I believe they're having a function tomorrow morning (Saturday 25th).

+1 for drj suggestion especially joining the yahoo groups.
There is also Music for Ardvarks at Soda (Vanderbilt bet. Prospect and St. Marks). Its a bone of contention here - but Soda is a kid friendly bar.

This weekend Prospect Park has their Halloween events and the Zoo has their Boo at the Zoo.

My wife and I have a just-turned-2-yr old who very much enjoys trudging over to the aforementioned Underhill Playground. There's also a relatively new ice cream shop nearby on Underhill that has a sizable playroom in the back. And the Brooklyn Library at Grand Army Plaza has storybook time with a wide variety of ages three mornings a week (my wife is a stay-at-home as well).

Oh, and keep going to Sepia. We've been going there since they opened in March 04, its a great place to meet the neighborhood in a nice, relaxing environment. And my kid's picture is on the mirror behind the bar!

brooklyn library has lots of kid events, the brooklyn children's museum for sure, brooklyn museum on 1st saturdays, blue marble icecream place on underhill has a kids room...

there are a lot of restaurants that are very kid/family friendly too ... i'm sure meeting people there would be good too.

There's a nice playground for infants and toddlers in prospect park - I'm not sure the exact cross-street, but if you follow prospect park west from GAP and then take the first left into the park it's on the right before you hit the bike path.
