Q train - 7th Ave station

I've been using the Q train a lot more this year. Makes for a quick ride into the city. But I was wondering what the exit that is closed up goes to. I can' really see any other street exits. Plus I get confused with where it is underground opposed to above ground. Kind of wish they would open it up again. Seems like the station gets enough traffic, even on the weekends to have 2 exits. Any history to this?

There was a thread on this about a year ago. You might want to find it in a search. It used to be a exit long ago, closed up, I forgot why... I think Brownstoner did a write-up on it too... :-k

I believe it was at Flatbush + Sterling. I really wish they'd reopen it... would shorten my walk, AND that station is badly in need of more air flow.

An MTA study like 5+ years ago said it was a good candidate for reopening, but clearly they never bothered spending the money. They're just using the rest of the lobby for storage, supposedly :(

That leads to the secret underground bunker for the masterminds at Home Heating Oil. Kind of like NORAD.
