Open Mic Nights?

Hey. I'm looking to play some (music) open mics and was wondering if anybody knows of any in the area? I heard Bristen's had one? How is it? Any other suggestions? Or should I just go into the city?

Bar 4 in Park Slope has one. Now, I know some people hate Bar 4, but I had a friend play there last week and the sound system is really good.

Yeah, I played the Bar 4 open mic about a year and a half ago, and there were a number of people there who happened to be pretentious dicks. Didn't feel like it was worth going back. Maybe they've gotten better in the interim.

That's pretty much most open mics in New York, though, so if you can get past that, it's fine. The sound is quite decent.

Both. I'm looking to sing and play original stuff. But I do love me some karaoke, too!
