This is out of context for the board, but I thought I might try anyways...

Does anyone know how to convert eps files on a Mac into jpeg files? I don't have any photoshop or adobe illustrator and I'm looking for a way to do it without those.

Thanks!!

If you don't mind using the command line, then ImageMagick is the way to go: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binary-releases.php#macosx

    After installing, run the command

    convert input.eps output.jpg

If you want to do anything more complicated, the list of options are here: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/convert.php

On a Mac - you could try opening the file with PREVIEW and then using the Save As function to convert it to pdf.

    Or...

You could open the image - select Print or CMD-P - and Print to PDF.

    Good luck.

If the reason you don't want to use photoshop or illustrator is the price, you could use gimp. It'll give you easier control over the size and quality of the jpeg, if that's important to you.

doesn't lemke still distribute graphic converter as shareware? i'm paid up, so i don't know, but used to be only a nag screen at launch to put up with, and you could use it for free, fully functional, until you realized how invaluable it was, and paid the really small fee. can open and save to just about any graphic format, and imho has a better browser interface than iphoto. www.lemkesoft.com
