Operation Impact

Anyone know what happened to Operation Impact (all the cops that used to walk up and down Franklin)? Is it over and done with? I haven't seen as many ever since the police perch on St. John's disappeared, about 2 months ago now.

    The 77 is no longer an impact precinct.

    Hmm. Is that considered a good thing? As in, the stats improved? Or that there was a funding issue?

    wasn't a brick or something thrown at a cop a couple weeks ago? hard to believe the 77 has improved its crime stats recently.

    That was during a parade.

    It happened in the 71. The 71 contains CH south of Eastern Parkway.

    And now Mr. Bloomberg announced that there will be no police academy class for Jan. 2009. Do more with less or something like that...
