I don't much feel like going food shopping (mostly because I am on "work alert" at the Park Slope Coop and don't much feel like remedying it right now), so I thought I would grab some dinner out.

There's always carneviento (which I want to get to know better--yum!), but any other suggestions at the moment? on the cheap, take-out side preferred.

How cheap are you looking for? A lot of the regulars here have recently become obsessed with Albaz (the grill in the back of the newstand next to Brownstone Billiards).

yeah, but most of 'em are in the 'slope, and I'm in a "i like my neighborhood better" mood. Hm. Maybe I should hit up the Islands. They're right up the street. I've been craving good, spicy food lately, too.
