shouldn’t 9th ave have christmas decorations again?

i was walking down 5th ave today and noticed they already have those string christmas lights up even though they’re not lit yet. 9th ave always use to have them until probably the late 90's and I don’t know why they stopped putting them up. But I would love to see them back.

they should put them up again, but please, not until after thanksgiving.

if 9th ave had christmas lights but didn't put them up until after thanksgiving, then they'd be the only shopping ave in all of brooklyn to do it that way. but that'd be fine with me.

i can't make it myself, but maybe someone can bring this up at the windsor terrace meeting on thurs at holy name.

well, christmas decorations are not supposed to start until jolly old saint nick ho ho ho's his way down broadway in the thanksgiving day parade.

everyone decorating before then is doing it wrong.

The lights don't go up until the weekend before Christmas (if Christmas is on a weekend, then the previous weekend is acceptable). The tree doesn't go up until Christmas Eve and Santa decorates it after we've gone to sleep.

according to a few of the store owners i spoke with there won't be any lights this year, as no one even discussed it..

If it's too late to have lights this year, then it's too late to have lights this year. But how can we make sure we get them next year?

if you have the time, try to attend Windsor Terrace Alliances 6:30 meeting tonight at Holy Names Shepherds Hall ,245 PPW and bring it up , they may have enough influence with the shopkeepers to have lights put up this year or at- least next year.

i was not able to make it to the alliance meeting. did anyone bring it up there?
