It says "cafe bar" outside, and is across from Commerce Bank. We wanted to make rdinnerveservations, after having a great lunch there--but does it have a freakin name?!! :?

The food was good there? I have not heard good things about that place from friends and considering they are owned by the Sotto Voce people (for the life of me, I do not understand why that place is still open, they are awful!), I was avoiding it.

What did you have that you liked so much?

I had the WORST lunch there once. It was astronomically bad. But it was early on in its existence.

I don't like Sotto Voce at all, but I'm fond of Aperitivo. Have been there 3x for lunch, and always left satisfied. Service is pleasant, they don't rush you out, and the lunch special is well-made and a very good deal. Plus I love to sit in those big windows.

FYI Primo Atto is also owned by the people who own Sotto Voce and Apertivo. Love the owners, the nicest people which also makes for a great meal, and we like the food at Sotto Voce.

I actually like the food at Sotto Voce also :) Love a dish they make with chicken and a brandy cream sauce!

Really ? Where did you hear that? Because my neighbor is related to the owners of Primo Atto and told me this was their first restaurant. I don't think they are the same owners as Sotto Voce at all.

Love or despise Sotto Voce that "cafe bar" needs a better sign.

Not all places have a name. Take for example this bar at 200 5th Avenue. These dummies don't even have a name. They just put the address on it.

200 5th is well known as it is, and we all know places that have "no name." But to open a restaurant on a prime corner, without a number or name outside is plain silly at this time.

200 5th is the name of the restaurant. And to their credit, they opened up in that location when it was not a great area and nothing else was there.

Very true! They have to be there almost 20 years now! I remember eating there back in the day when walking home on 5th Avenue in the dark was not the safest thing to do.

Oh, and I am pretty sure "Apertivo" has their name on the window.

Aperitivo has their name on the window, and its decidedly average. I do think it's appeal is that it's the closest to a "small dishes" type Italian we have in the Slope. Good if you want to go cheap on your Italian but, really, Al Di La's not that expensive. :)

And now we have Primo Atto-can't wait to go there again this Friday!
