Utility Scam

A few moments ago I just went to the door to greet someone from a place called IDT or something wanting to know if I was getting the discount from ConEd and others.

This is a scam! Don't give them any info or it could cost yor money. Just close the door.

Can you explain how that works. I run into those people very often. Both for electric & phone.

Yea I don't trust those sales people. And they always try to get you to sign right there... as if we're stupid.
