Things I saw on 5th Avenue yesterday
longtimesloper
While I was out doing my local booze shopping, I noticed that there is going to be a new Indian restaurant on 5th Avenue between 2md and 3rd Streets. i can't remember the name now, but there was a sign in the window. Anybody hear any scuttlebutt about it?
Also, did anyone else see the guy standing on the corner of the Commerce Bank (I can't remember their new name) yesterday afternoon? Tall, white male, long hair, beard, mustache wearing a brown hooded robe tied with rope? I kid you not, did someone else see him? i am assuming he was just waiting around for someone to come out the bank, he kept playing with green mailbox receptacle on that corner. Did anybody else notice him?

slopeheadYeah it's TD Bank now. I never like the garish red Commerce Bank logo anyway. The new indian place is a Baluchi's (mini chain from Manhattan). -
longtimesloperThat's it, Baluchi's!
So, no one else saw this guy yesterday? Was i hallucinating again? -

I'm telling you, I thought I was having a religious epiphany! -
global01I thought I saw Jesus once. In Mexico. Turns out it was just Fernando, who turned out to be a super hottie and also a dolphin training. I call that trip "the week I found Jesus"...but I digress. -

he actually trained dolphins. "Jesus" had all kinds of mad skillz ;-) -
longtimesloperI bet he did, I just bet he did..................... -
bohumaThe guy in the hooded robe tied with rope was in all likelihood a Franciscan Friar.
Commerce Bank has been taken over by TD. TD stands for Toronto Dominion, it's one of the big 5 Canadian banks. Good news for Commerce Bank customers because Canada has stricter capital adequacy laws than the US, so it's probably likely to be around a lot longer than most of the pissant banks we have. -
8thandprezBaluchi's indian food is pretty poor, IMHO. Joy and Kinara remain the best in the Slope. -
longtimesloperSo, no one other than me saw the Jesus looking guy yesterday? Man, maybe I need to cut down on the booze -
