IKEA assembly services?

Has anyone used an assembly service to put together their IKEA stuff? We just bought a whole lot of wall units and such, and we need help installing them. Anyone you can recommend? Or warn against?

Potter might do it. But you'd have to supply the wine.

Flexi is likely part of the deal as well.

From what little I remember I don't think Flexi did any of the assembly - only drinking.

but they are a pair, and might even be a union (one claims to wear the other's underwear). Like any good union, for every worker there must be another worker to oversee safety....

So, OP I'd rule them out.

I still can't figure out whether this is a "recommend" or a "warn against."

I have bought plenty of things from IKEA but have had a local handyman come over and put them together for me. One piece was a large wardrobe and I also bought some shelving that I had put up. If you want the number of the handymen I used, let me know (he is sometimes hard to get a hold of, he has numerous small children and can be hard to pinpoint down to a time. But, I do know another great handyman who also does this stuff).

I have never used IKEAs services for these things though.

It all depends what you are looking for in an Assembler.

You'll have to decide on your own...

You can find somebody on Craigslist, look under services.. labor/moving.
Some of those wall units require 2 people for installation.

Did you know there is a website called Ikea Fans? These people are hard core Ikea addicts. http://www.ikeafans.com/

    Found this off Craigslist. http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/lbs/914102117.html

Lt. Dangle, I would love to have you fasten some big firm rods to my wall -- but you must bring Niecy so she can do her "Clean House" thing. (It's about time "Clean House" had a proper stoop sale, instead of those lame whitebread yard sales they're always doing.)

B-Potter, I'm afraid someone has been impersonating me. I'm a she, and I don't do drag, and I haven't been to any pastys in the last week. (Or even worn any.) (Or even eaten any!) If I had seen you, I would certainly have introduced myself. But I can't say I've ever had the pleasure.

I would invite you over to assemble the IKEA units and pay you in wine -- but the wine would be payable AFTER the work is concluded, not before and during. You see, I'm afraid I don't have workman's comp coverage for any potted potters who get injured by flying Swedish parts on my property.

Try the section mgr. in the wall unit dept. at, Lowes/Home Depot. Everyone can use a little extra $'s. Also, in passing stores, check their wall unit/or stores under construction and ask the /owner or contractor if he will install for some extra $'s. He'll probably refer the job to a worker he likes.
Good day & the best of luck

    Subject: Re: Furniture Assembly Services

There are several Assemlby Services but I recently used Furniture Assembly Service & More. A man by the name of Adam owns the business and he comes out personally. I asked him a lot of questions and basically he said he can do all kinds of projects and adds staff for larger ones like office projects. Check out his site at www.furnitureassemblyservice.com. Prices are reasonable and service is very fast. I highly recommend him.
