Oh dag! I don't know. Seems to be the corners where the weeds get sold. May be drug related?

I was walking my dog down Washington when the shooting happened. I heard three pops---assumed a car backfired---there was no screaming, yelling or panicking...A few minutes later, the police showed up and blocked the bodega off with crime tape. Its scary to know that I was that close to a shooting. People were standing around watching.

i kind of freaked out b/c the cable guy was here and had to kind of sneak into the backyard & we were joking with him not to startle the neighbors --- then just as soon as he jumped down off the fire escape we started hearing the shots --- i was like, did the neighbors just shoot the cable guy?!

i'm sorry that someone else was shot, but i was relieved to the the cable guy alive and well.

Busting guns while people are on their way to work. You think they could wait until like noon or something. Its like drinking.

Anyhoo...terrible news but doesn't seem like anything completely out of the ordinary for that corner.

As someone who lives very near the corner of Wash and St. Johns, it is extremely out of the ordinary.

This morning around 10, there were three cops looking around the roof of the building next to mine - checking the fire escapes and looking over the edges and in the alley below.. on underhill ave. were def. looking for someone.

Subject: re:shooting at bodega and on union

Re: bodega---The word I heard is that the shooter and shootee weren't local (at least from the block) but can't say how reliable that info was. I was thankful that Mohammed wasn't there, after the beating he took there last year , I'm just happy he didn't have to witness the bloodshed.

I don't know anything about the Union St/Franklin shooting, but one of those temporary police lights/stations was on the corner yesterday. Not one of the larger communication stations that have been stationed on Franklin in the past few years, just a little one. I gotta say that living here has made me appreciate seeing the police.

The shooting on washington and St. Johns is not related to the shooting on Union and Franklin Ave.
Washington shooting was just random robbery gone bad. the shoots were fired but no one was injured(my mother was there) Union and franklin they say the people i know that live over there that some idiot just wanted to fire his gun.
Neither had anything to do with drugs.
I just have one question why ever time there is a shooting it has to be durg related and how do you know that they sell weed on that corner are you a customer. If so I wouldn't be on here saying what you think you know. You never know who knows those guys.

Well I guess you know the "real" story, thanks for clearing it up for us. I always thought that drugs were sold on that corner, and in 781 Washington and also on the corner of Lincoln plc. I guess I was wrong all these years.

Those are well known drug corners, not like ordinary citizens can do anything about it, apparently. It's glaringly obvious if you spend any time the neighborhood at all. You don't have to be a junkie to see that.

ditto. I thought I knew what I was talking about too, having walked by this corner at all hours for years with my dog. All this time they must have been handing oregano to other guys in little bags, in exchange for $. I guess people use the oregano at Gino's (the pizza place on Washington whose food lacks spices).

...I needed to be set straight. Thanks blazinh.

P.S. A good education is key to a good future.

Listen i come on here just to keep people informed just as i have been informed. I have been and continue to receive education. So please inform me what does education have to do with assuming ( you know what assume means) that everytime someone is shot or there is a shooting that it is drug related. And like I said the shooting had nothing to do with drugs i never said drugs weren't sold on the corner but that i wouldn't know about that seeing as I don't sniff, snort or smoke. The way I see it the only way you know what is being done on anycorner in this neighborhood is if you are a disgruntle customer. ( Weed must wasnt that good ).

Not the way I heard it. I heard there was blood.

Random robbery? At the crowded bodega on a high traffic corner in the morning??? Heh....Good one. Not the brightest random robber. Hope they didn't trip on their untied shoe laces on their way home.

Flo, I believe blazinh was trying to say that the shooting on Franklin didn't result in injuries.

The shooting on Washington certainly resulted in injuries (the guy was shot 3x in the leg).

My parents (here for Thanksgiving...) were about 200 feet away, heard the shots, then saw all the police response and the storekeeper of Deli Cup loaded into the ambulance.

P.S. The parents were very impressed with the speed of the police and EMS response...

    ...but maybe Blazinh knows more.
